I got into Yale as a Dean's Scholar and Forté Fellow. Before that I graduated from William & Mary in three years, and before that, Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology. I still remember how each of those decisions felt. What I do best, though, is help turn real, complicated experience into a story that reads clearly on the page, which is the whole job of an application.

High school students applying to college

Building the application from the ground up: which schools actually fit you, and what story your activities are already telling. The essays should sound like a seventeen-year-old wrote them, because the good ones do.

Adults applying to MBA programs

Positioning a real career, gaps and pivots included, for admissions committees. School strategy, essays, resumes, recommender prep, and interviews.

How I work

Story before strategy

We start with who you actually are. One coherent story, told differently for each school, beats five polished applications that could belong to anyone.

Weaknesses become evidence

Everyone treats a bad semester or a late application as something to hide. I'd rather use it. Handled honestly, it's the clearest proof you can give a committee that you know yourself. I applied in Round 3 and wrote about why. It worked.

Your words, made sharper

I don't ghostwrite. Committees can tell, and it's your story anyway. I edit and push until the essay sounds like you on your best day.

Why me
A decade of teaching. Weekly elementary-school tutoring through all four years of high school, summer-school TA, Fairfax Collegiate instructor, and Smithsonian Air & Space educator for 150 visitors a day.
Mentoring that lasted. Led the education team at William & Mary's Campus Kitchen, mentoring 25+ kids in low-income communities, including three students I followed from elementary school through their college acceptances.
Where students have landed. Undergraduate application essays, with admits to Stanford, Princeton, and Carnegie Mellon.
Close to the process. I'm a Yale Admissions Guide and an undergraduate mentor, and I co-host SOM admissions events.
Last cycle, myself. I went through the whole process myself last cycle, and got in where I wanted.
